Dear Ananya,
You are two years old today and you just said "Papa, look — moon!" while pointing at a streetlight. You were so sure. So proud of yourself. I recorded it — it's attached. Please watch it. That's your voice at two.
I also attached the photo from the hospital the night you were born. That's me, looking terrified and completely in love. And one of you sleeping on my chest last Sunday — the one where the dog is also asleep on both of us.
I don't know who you'll be when you open this. But I know exactly who you are right now. And she is absolutely perfect.

My darling boy,
You are eight months old. You learned to clap today. You clapped at everything — the fan, the cat, your own reflection. You clapped when I sneezed. I attached a voice note of it because I was laughing so hard I was crying.
Here are some things I want you to know about right now: Your favourite food is mashed banana. You hate socks. You grab my nose when I pick you up and you won't let go. Your laugh sounds like someone surprised a small bird.
I hope when you're eighteen and reading this, the world has been kind to you. But if it hasn't — if you're having a hard time — I want you to know that you were once the happiest baby on earth. Happiness is in your bones, Arjun. You were built for it.
